This week, we are continuing our series: The 4 C’s of Staging. These important Staging strategies apply to all homes no matter the size, scope, or condition, allowing you to sell more quickly and for more value. If you missed last week’s post, check out tips on how to effectively be Clutter-Free. Today, coming in at #2...
CLEAR
When getting ready to list your home, it can be overwhelming to know where to start. That’s ok, we are here to help. After decluttering, remember to do the following in order to enhance your home’s best features.
Determine a clear purpose for the room
Many homes have flex spaces that serve as a catch all for a home office, play room, and yoga room, etc. While that is convenient when living in the home, it can be confusing in listing photos. Pick one purpose for the room and stage in that direction.
Choose a clear focal point
Take into consideration the selling features, room layout, and arrange furniture and accessories with your focal point in mind. For example, if you have a gorgeous view from the living room, arrange couch to highlight the view and add a mirror to reflect greenery.
Respect and clear pathways
This may seem common sense, but often we block pathways with large furniture or accessories. Again, fine for living, but not ideal for selling. Assess where the entry/exit points are in each room and be sure doors don’t open into furniture
Clear it out and freshen it up
Clean out flower beds. Be sure to add fresh mulch and colorful flowers in beds around trees and close to the front door.
Happy Staging,
